The Centre for Proteomic Research combines in-depth expertise with internationally competitive facilities for the large-scale characterisation of proteins expressed in health and disease. Proteins are the ultimate effectors of essentially all cellular processes and constitute the vast majority of therapeutic drug targets. Thus, the systematic analysis of proteins and in particular their patterns of expression, interactions and modifications - proteomics - is now a valuable approach for defining key cellular processes in molecular detail. In addition to in-house research, the Centre provides resources for other investigators, undertakes collaborations and provides a contract service for academics and commercial users.
